Local police confirmed that the crash occurred after a man fleeing a traffic stop crashed into her car.

According to Euless Police, the motorist was spotted driving with two different license plates, one which was expired from 2020 and another that didn’t match the vehicle.

An officer turned on his lights in order to stop the motorist but instead of slowing down, they actually sped up.

However, due to the vehicle committing only traffic offences, the officer did not pursue the vehicle and he deactivated his emergency lights and siren and reduced his speed.

The motorist continued driving away at a high speed and around a half-mile east from where the vehicle fled, the police officer observed a bright flash of light nearby.

As the officer approached the intersection, he saw that the suspect vehicle had crashed.

The driver then fled, leaving a passenger trapped inside the car.

When the officer approached a car that had been hit by the suspect’s vehicle, he saw that a woman was unresponsive in the driver’s seat.

She was later pronounced dead.

A man who heard the crash, Marcus Dunson, told local news outlet 5NBC: “He reached in to feel the lady’s pulse, and shook his head and I’m assuming she’s gone.

He recounted how he ran over to try and help after he heard the crash.

“I heard another gentleman scream from around the corner over there and I went up and it was a friend of mine,” said Dunson about the passenger trapped in the suspect car.

“I told him, man you got to stay where you’re at, you might have a spinal injury I can’t pull you out.”

Dunson said he then found the driver in a ditch with injuries nearby.

“I hear a scream coming from down the street this way, and I looked in the ditch and there’s another guy in the ditch, he ran from the scene of the accident and dove into the ditch,” he said.

Police have since arrested the driver of the suspect vehicle, with officers continuing to investigate the fatal crash.
