‘Del Boy’ Hutch in horror Dublin crash that leaves Ukrainian woman fighting for life

Killer Derek ‘Del’ Boy Hutch was involved in a horrific motorbike incident that left a Ukrainian woman fighting for her life.

We have learned that Hutch (36), who is a brother to slain gangster Gary Hutch, was riding a motorcycle through Amien Street in Dublin’s North Inner City, when it collided with a female pedestrian this afternoon.

The woman, who is aged in her 60s and understood to be originally from the war-torn country of Ukraine, was struck by Mr Hutch’s motorcycle at around 1:20pm.

Horrific video-footage of the aftermath of the crash circulated on social media, showing gardai and emergency services rushing to the woman’s aid.

It is understood that ‘Del Boy’ – a nephew of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch – who was released from prison last year, was left with minor injuries in the incident after he fell off the bike which then collided with an An Post van in the middle of the busy road.

The horrific crash, which is being treated as a freak accident, occurred right outside Dublin’s Connolly Station – as crowds of people looked on.

The woman was rushed to Dublin’s Mater Hospital, where tonight her condition is understood to be critical.

Sources say the woman was taken in for surgery before being placed in intensive care on Friday evening.

Mr Hutch was also rushed to the same hospital, where his injuries were tonight described as being non-life threatening.

Sources say Mr Hutch was tested by gardai and blood samples were taken from him following the crash.

Those samples will now be tested for any suspicion of alcohol or drug intoxication.

Mr Hutch was not placed under any garda arrest, and sources say gardai are treating the incident as an accident tonight.

The infamous gangster is well known to gardai and served 16 years in prison for his role in an armed raid in May 2009 in Lucan, Dublin, during which his friend Gareth Molloy was shot dead by gardai.

He also served a ten year sentence at the same time after he was caught with the gun and silencer.

And he was also caged for six years for manslaughter for stabbing innocent man Barry Maguire in Co Meath on St Stephen’s Day in 2007.

‘Del Boy’ is the son of Patsy Hutch – a major target of the Kinahan cartel who has dodged numerous attempts on his life over the years.

‘Del Boy’ was also officially warned by gardai of a threat to his own life, following his release from Dublin’s Wheatfield Prison last year.

Sources previously confirmed to this paper that ‘Del Boy’ even legally changed his surname last year.

The latest name change is understood to have occurred via deed poll – just days after his uncle – Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch was flown into Baldonnel Airport in a military aircraft, and brought before a late night sitting of Dublin’s Special Criminal Court.

There, Gerry Hutch was formally charged with the murder of David Byrne, a Kinahan cartel associate who was gunned down in the lobby of Dublin’s Regency Hotel on February 5, 2016.

Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch is currently awaiting trial before the three-judge Special Criminal Court later this year – after losing his case to have it heard before a jury.

He now remains in custody in Dublin’s Wheatfield Prison, where it is understood he is being watched at all times, under a strict security regime.
